Maximizing Employees or Internships without Hardships
I have hired probably about 20 internships (interns)/co-operative education students (co-op) over my career. I was myself a beneficiary of being a co-op WAAYY back in the late 1980’s at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.
Over the intervening 20+ years I have come up with a model to maximize the benefits of interns/co-ops while minimizing the cost. The result was the following article published in the October 2009 edition of the CMA Magazine. The article was largely faithful to the original concepts however I have provided a Director’s Cut for those who want a bit more information as well.
