The couple were planning to build a home on the 80 acre site. Unlike the surrounding agricultural land, this site contains an original large stand of deciduous forest, dominated by trembling aspen and balsam poplar, with a rich variety in shrub and forb species. A 1.5km trail winds its way through the front ~40 acres of the property. Winter is the ideal time to walk along the trail as it can become quite wet and buggy in warmer months. It is a stepping stone location for wildlife including deer and moose [2, adapted].
