Some notes on a course I recently took as a volunteer with the Canadian Executive Services Overseas or CESO.  Overall, a good course that was not too preachy and had useful information when working in different cultures.  Highlights are as follows.

Where is the Public Servant Alumni?

In 2016 I wrote the blog ‘Monetizing Being a Public Servant‘ which looked at the question, ‘what do you do after your retire from the public service?‘.  That blog was an individual’s perspective of what to do post-retirement.  This blog takes a slightly different view in that it asks: ‘should society more actively engaged retired public servants through an alumni function?

Driving MS Daisy 2018

A Little Context Please

Canada has the highest rate of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, with an estimated 1 in 340 Canadians living with the disease. While it is most often diagnosed in young adults aged 15 to 40, younger children and older adults are also diagnosed with the disease (source, MS Society).  Each June the MS Society of Alberta and the NWT runs the Leduc to Camrose ride over two days and about 150km.

Year round bikes are a key transportation means.
